ASD Architectural provide the largest library of fire tests for Doors, Screens, Facades, and Roof Glazing. Products are tested to European and British Standards and provide resistance in different systems covering the following categories.
Steel is the ideal material to construct fire resistant systems. Steel has a melting point of 1500ºC whilst aluminium is 650ºC. This makes it possible for steel fenestration systems to be fire rated to 120 minutes integrity and insulation and 180 minutes integrity only.
Advances in fire rated steel framing have enabled the development of fire rated curtain walling across multiple storey buildings. Floor to ceiling fire rated screens are sometimes used to divide interior spaces while offering security ,daylight and aesthetic appeal along with life safety.
Fire rated curtain walling is especially suitable for lobbies and atriums as they provide uninterrupted views. More and more fire rated doors and screens are specified externally for example when a building is close to another building's property line. Exterior fire rated screens can also prevent the spread of fires within buildings as fire bursts out of windows and leaps to the floors above, or in built up areas where it is used to prevent the spread of fires from building to building.
